Join the Oak Lawn Band Executive Board!
"The OLB is actively seeking candidates who have 20-30 hours per month they can donate to achieve their transformational goals over the next year. Ideal candidates will have expertise that aligns with the role they are interested in, extensive networking connections in DFW, sufficient time available, and a passion for the LGBTQ community and the arts. The ability to donate financially is welcome but not required. "
Volunteering for the OLB board is a 1-year term commitment, with a 2-month onboarding & handoff period - total 14 months from May 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026 - with the option to run for election again if desired.
Board roles typically need at least 5 hours of time donated each week, with a few months (i.e. concert month or heavy fundraising months) needing closer to 30 hours donated.
The OLB's goal for the 25-26 Board is to execute an organizational transformation by:
Rewriting the bylaws to conform to the new needs of the band and modern problems they face.
Develop & deploy revised board positions, terms, and job descriptions to ensure continuity of government, clear expectations, and easy recruitment.
Financial planning a path for self-sustaining fundraising and generating enough capital to hire a full time Executive Director, in addition to part time Artistic Staff & Band Managers.
